[Release thread] Couchpotato plugin

I'm not sure, as there are a lot of folders. I'll try to explain mine that works.
On FreeNAS i have a Media folder, inside i have downloads and movies. (under downloads i have uncompleted and completed (also torrents if using blackhole).
both Transmission and CouchPotato have in their jail their media folder mounted to the NAS media folder.
Now depending on how you use CP with transmission, it should download the movies to Completed, then CP should look for completed movies there, rename them and more and move them to
your movie folders.
That's how it works for me.

i've now managed to get it working, apart from the move and renaming bit, thinks its down to permissions. will keep at it.

As i don't know how to make right users and permissions, i set umask in transmission config file to 0.
for example: /mnt/FreeNas/jails/bit_1/usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home/settings.json
and in settings.json change to umask=0

Hi there, to be sure i installed a new CouchPotato pbi.
Is it possibe to move the data and settings from old CouchPotato to the new one?
I'd also need to do that for SickBeard

edit: found it after all. i moved for CP the entire data folder and it works, i'll try something similar for SB. :)

I didn't find what to move in SickBeard, so i just let it start from beginning.

The newer CouchPotato is really nice though :)

I've just installed the couchpotato PBI inside my Transmission jail, hoping that I'll avoid permission issues. The folder I use to download into has 777 permissions, so it should be available for writing. Couchpotato works, and Transmission picks up the torrent sent to it, but then I get a permission error in the UI and it doesn't start the download.
Is there anything I need to change in the user setup?

have you changed the umask in settings.json from transmission?
i think that did it for me.

Yes I did. Transmission is downloading ok on it's own, but not the stuff being sent from couchpotato

I have tried to update CP using Ftp as Master Gollom suggested earlier in this post. But it just will not work.
The plugin does not start again. I have checked the ip address and it is unique and i am able to ping it.
I have also restarted both the jail and Freenas itself. Still does not start.

I have also checked ownership of the files after transferring the update.

Any ideas what the problem might be.

I redid new like this:
install CP from webui
not turn it on, add storage
SFTP the newer version to the location (OVERWRITE)
turn of jail, turn on jail
turn on plugin and it worked (sometimes i need to try to switch it on twice before it works)

other than that i wouldn't know what it could be

Aaaaaaaaand I'm back. With a different problem (what's with me today?).
Long story short: I can't, through the CouchPotato web GUI, list the contents of my jail mount point. However, when I connect to this jail via the console, the mount point works perfectly...
It most certainly is a permission issue (though I have set the mount point owner to 1001:media, and its permission to 775 - event 777, just for the fun), but I can't understant what's going on. My transmission plugin was set up this exact same way, and sees / writes on the mount point.
Are there any kind of logs I could look at to have a better understanding of what happens here?

EDIT:
OK, I figured it out: it was not a permission issue, but an encoding one. My mount point was containing folders with accented characters, which are not fully supported by CouchPotato (Sickbeard has no problem with them, for the record). After I renamed my folders, they were finally visible.

Stefano: I have the same problem and followed your tip but I still have a problem. Created a link to /mnt/Torrent via the storage interface in FreeNAS. In that directory I changed the name of a subdirectory to Gladiato2000 and give full permission. Unfortunatelly, via the GUI of Couch Patato, if I go to rename and browse in /mnt/Torrent, I do not see any directory. Any great tip you could give?

ok for the second time, after a few days, without a change of settings (that i know of) CouchPotato stops moving the files, there is no rename or ignore file message nothing, it's like he just doesn't check any more.

So i look a bit more at it, what i see happening now is:
When transmission successfully downloads a movie, the file disapears from the download dir, and is not in the movie folder where it is supposed to be.
Does that ring a bell to anyone?

I couldn't list anything from CouchPotato if any subfolders has an accentued name. So, every single folder (at a one-level depth) inside my mounting point is free of accents: that did the trick.
Do you still have folders (or files, beware of hidden ones) with accented (or non-English characters) left in your /mnt/Torrent directory?
Also, did you first try to browse the mounting point from within your jail (using the Freenas web GUI console)?

I appear to be having issues getting CP to search nzb sites. I really only use nzbclub, although I have nzbindex and nzbx ticked. The search using torrents downloads and appears to find torrents, but never finds anything on usenet. I have specified usenet under Searcher--> first search. The line I get is:

I then sometimes get the message:

[ders.movie.couchpotatoapi] Error getting ETA for tt0443272: No JSON object could be decoded
Should there be something under params? Anyone have any ideas? I had this working on 8.3 and I don't think I've changed my config at all...
