How to backup ALL apps and config to an external drive?

I would like to backup all my apps and their config to a secondary location...cloud, external drive....and other than copy the whole /mnt/tank/ix-systems folder and getting a copy of the daily config file I'm not sure what else needs to be saved. What method are you using? Anyone using the duplicati app? I wondered if it would help.

This would be everything, unless you've external storage mounted to an App, which would (ofcourse) also need to be copied.
