I too have exactly the same issue. Any help would be very much appreciated.

So far I've tried Zoneminder on Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS and TrueNAS and I can't get any of them to work. Getting it to work on TrueNAS would be the best solution for me but I'm beginning to wonder if Zoneminder is an April fools joke. I can't get it to work on anything no matter how many tutorials I follow.

Same, and the source of the problem is the required directories can't be made for some reason.

It starts from line 609 in OP's @ostrovlyan pastebin: touch: /usr/local/etc/zoneminder/zm-freenas.conf: No such file or directory

From there it's a long series of cannot creates and cannot opens. I'm going to attempt to install the pkgs in a fresh jail.

Hi Nemo. I've got the same problem as you. Does it work now on youre Truenas jail? What did you do? Can you tell me how to install it manually? That would be great.

Thanks a lot.

I've been working on it for days straight but just can't get it right. I'll report back if I get anywhere with this, I'm going to keep at it until it works or I entirely move to Linux (most important function of my box now is my video cameras).

Thank you for your reply. In my old freenas 11.2 Installation it works out of the Box. I hope the Best trying Shinobi. Best regards Chris.

It looks like I got it working. Still need to add my cameras and make sure feeds work but I got the install fully working after a lot of trial and error and troubleshooting. I documented the process and will create a post as soon as I'm able.

EDIT: Happy to report I have it fully working now and plan to post a writeup on what I did.

Hi, if you're able to post a write-up I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks

Unfortunately I thought I had it working but after a camera firmware upgrade, I'm now left with an "Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported" plugin error when I try to view the live stream.

This half makes sense since indeed, Flash Player is dead, but it doesn't explain why it worked without an issue before I upgraded the firmware of the camera. I went back and forth with Reolink support because the new firmware disabled all ways to access the camera except their app (that's now fixed and it's accessible over HTTPS and RTSP) but this plugin error persists.

I got it working again fully, but I won't be using ZoneMinder going forward. I will make another post with the full writeup of my install in case anyone else needs it. I went a simpler route since I only have 2 cameras with good detection features built in.

Hello. For those of You who have the possibility, i would suggest installing a VM in Truenas(ubuntu server for example) and installing ZM under it. The install is pretty straight forward and it works very well. I have it installed for a few weeks now and it is very stable.
