WD RMA sent White Instead of Red Label

I have 3 WD Reds that need RMAs. WD sent 3 drives with white labels. The white labeled drives have the EXACT Model number (WD40EFRX-68WT0N0) as the Reds already in my system. Top of label says "Recertified"

Anything I should be worried about?

That is just how they label their "Recertified" drives. It is luck of the draw too. I have gotten brand new drives, with Red label, and gotten "Recertified" drives from sending in WD Red drives in for replacement. It just depends on their inventory.

PS. You probably want to run them through a burn-in test before you put them in your NAS. I had a warranty replacement drive fail during burn-in and had to send the replacement back for a replacement. Never trust an un-tested drive.

Thanks for the quick reply. The last 2 drives I RMAd I got red labels. Now these are all white. Guess I got lucky last time.

My three failed Red 4TB were all replaced with white labels, but they're labelled as NASware which is the same marketing term as the reds. Like Chris, one of those whitelabels died during burnin and needed another replacement. All under warranty RMAs.

This is fairly common. I have had (where I work) some of the Gold (enterprise) drives replaced and got white labels there also.
