VBAT Low Voltage Warnings

One of my servers is starting to throw the occasional warning like "Voltage VBAT Asserted Lower Non-recoverable going low : Reading 2.35 < Threshold 2.38 Volts"

I'm assuming this is related to the battery on the motherboard (Supermicro X10SRH-cF) and that I should replace this battery ASAP. Is this the correct diagnosis?

I'm also assuming that I need to shut the server down before replacing that battery. Correct?

Other than using typical precautions against static electricity, are there any other issues I should be aware of when replacing this battery?

Digging deeper, if I log into the IPMI web interface, I see that these warnings have been occurring regularly since Feb 2022, with approximately 180 low voltage events in the last year. But it is only since upgrading to TN-13.0-U4 that I'm receiving these via email. I'm assuming that TN-13.0-U4 fixed some bug that was preventing emails from being sent for this warning.

I shutdown the server, and removed the battery, which was a CR2032. The voltage measured at 0.07V, which is well and truly dead. I replaced it with a new battery, which measured at 3.25V. System rebooted and running normally now.
