9.3 BETA working with some hiccups.

One feature that is worth it's weight is gold is the auto updates feature, but I have one issue. I need to add an exception to my firewall/router (UTM) to allow nightly downloads from the update server. May I obtain the URL for the update server or an IP address / mask?

Thank You,
alex

the url (hostname) which we hit for checking if there is a new update available is:
beta-update.freenas.org and currently it is at port 80

but this may change later on.

I hope this answers your question.

Would it be possible to have the address of the the update server displayed somewhere (in the GUI) ?
There won't be any point, shortly. This is just temporary during the BETA cycle and it will transition to update.freenas.org right before RELEASE, so just like download.freenas.org, it will be a permanent address.

That was not my intention :)

I meant the address being displayed, so it is immediately obvious where the traffic will be going to. I meant for the information being visible without searching in documentation, as that can be out of sync. (Any documentation can be out of sync, since it is just another location that might not be updated on the same schedule.)

For example, if 10-preALPHA requires for whatever reason another server... Or some testing, etc.
