Update HDD firmware from FreeNAS?

Is there a way to flash HDD firmware from FreeNAS/FreeBSD?

No. Quite frankly drive mfrs make this harder than it needs to be.

Crap... i installed windows on a separate drive... then i run Dell's utility but i get some stupid error. Can't gt logical drive status.

Any linux bootable with firmware flash capability?

Each drive manufacturer supports their own strange system. It is very hard to generalize.

Well... i gave up on a non-Dell system and borrowed a Dell server. Stupid, but got the job done. Couldn't find any Seagate FW for these.

Heh. I love the firmware updates that are still designed to be booted off a floppy.

Yeah, at least have an iso.

I actally found an CentOS based bootable from dell, but as long as the drives are not in a DELL server, it won't flash the drives. Same error message that i got when in windows with their .exe flashy.

What happened to "keep it simple"??? ffs...
