Hi all,

First post so please bear with me.

I have recently upgraded my system to TrueNAS, and during the process I decided to do a clean install of most of my plugins/jails etc. I have manged to refresh all installs with little to no issues, however, I cannot re-install the UnifiController plugin from the community? Is this simply an issue with the plugin itself? I keep getting the error shown below:

Status: FAILED
Start Time: 2021-02-10 08:43:19
Finished Time: 2021-02-10 08:44:38
Error: U2 had a failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: pkg error: - unifi6 : Refusing to fetch artifact and run post_install.sh! Partial plugin destroyed

The plugin ran for around a year on my FreeNAS build with no issues at all. I have looked around google and the normal forums and cannot see anyone else having this issue, which makes me think I am missing something simple here... Any ideas, pointers or help would be appreciated?

Regards,
G

I just did a reinstall of my Plex and UniFiController jails .. abandoning the plugins and doing manual installs so I could be on the latest 12.2 jails. Might want to try that maybe ...

I just created this account to say that I got this error myself and Googled the error and it brought me here. So I'm having the same issue.

Thanks ThreeDee,

I just resorted to doing just that. Must be an issue with the port at the moment, hopefully whoever is maintaining it is working on it to resolve this for others.

Yeah I had to blow away my old unifi controller plugin and build it manually it would fail no matter what i did. annoying, but like others mentioned, building it from scratch is easy, and way easier to keep it updated

This is because the unifi6 package has been superseded by the unifi7 package, and unifi6 no longer exists in the package repos. You'll have to create a generic jail, and then install unifi7 yourself.

First, from outside the jail, configure the jail to mount fdescfs and procfs:
  • iocage set mount_fdescfs=1 <name of your jail>
  • iocage set mount_procfs=1 <name of your jail>
Then restart the jail. The Unifi startup script should run when the jail starts.

This, of course, assumes you ran pkg inside the jail, and not from the host system.

IT IS WORKING NOW

I found the answer another threads :
what I need to do is :

It really is a simple install, just create a standard jail and run the following:

pkg install unifi7
sysrc "unifi_enable=YES"
service unifi start

Thanks for all your help
Robin
