TrueNAS Scale Dell 740xd Fan Speeds

Hello All!

I have a new Dell R740xd with latest TrueNAS Scale installed and its running great. the only issue i am having is the Fan Speeds are 15,000 RPM. sounds like a jet taking off. i have looked into IPMI to mod the iDRAC into forcing the fan speeds however it doesnt seem to work on the newer models of server. i have spoken to the distributer who told me to set the BIOS profile mode to Performance Per Watt (OS) which should hhand the fan control over to the OS. there isnt any fan controls within TN Scale....

any ideas?
anyone else come across this on the Dell *40 series?
