TrueNAS dashboard metrics vs collectd metrics

These just arent matching for me. collectd captures in octets/s (bytes) and the dashboard shows in Mib/s. however, the datapoints just arent even close.

i've got collectd setup to capture interface metrics every second (down from the 10s default) and increased the reporting option for graph points to 4096 (max)

Any ideas? I would have thought the truenas dashboard metrics are based off collectd, but maybe they are captured independently?
