Tor Network Plug-in

It would be great if there were a plug-in that allowed install and configuration of the Tor network. What would be ideal is if we could get the Transmission plug-in working through the Tor network.

Tor is specifically designed to make it hard to torify bittorrent. The tor developers state quite clearly that tor is not designed to handle the kinds of bandwidth required for p2p file sharing.

I've used tor in the past. And I know where they're coming from. Loading a web page through tor can take upwards of 30 seconds sometimes. Compared to 1-2 seconds normally.

The only semi-sane way to run torrents through tor is to only torify communication with the torrent tracker. All actual bulk uploading / downloading should go direct, not through tor.

Last time I read up on the TOR network, the inventors specifically asked that you NOT do P2P sharing over the network. They said that if even a small number of people started doing it the network would collapse under the additional load.

You're exactly the type of person that makes me not want to share my network with TOR, which is too bad for all the other people that need to use it.

You contribute quite a lot to the community, and for that you have my thanks. You're comment was unnecessary however. I discovered the Tor network last night. A simple, "You know - that is not what it was designed for" would have sufficed. You don't know the type of person I am; you assume too much.
