Sadly, but my testng server cant support VM on FreeNAS, so I'm testing ZFS on Ubuntu latest ver. - on WebMin > ZFS manager module.
I had created a new ZFS pool with RAIDZ2, BUT if you suddenly remove one hard drive, a pool just crashes out..

Does the O/S crash? Does Z2 fail with a message?

Please share as much information ad possible so we can understand "a pool just crashing out".

Asking a question about using zfs under linux , and administered via the webmin control panel, on a FreeNAS forum is not likely to get a useful repsonse. Your question is better asked elsewhere.

Maybe just use ssh to connect your Ubuntu test install and use zfs commands at the CLI. Also you could use the "zpool history" command and look at any webmin or other log files in Ubnutu to see what might be happening.
