Solved: Why would my IP change?

I turned on my server today and the IP I have used for a month or so is inaccessible. I plugged a monitor into my rig and found that the IP has changed. I didn't change it, why would it change on its own? The last number was .110 and now it's 108.

Let me know, thanks.

You didn't assign the server a static IP address?

If you rely on a DHCP server (usually a home network "router") to assign device IP address, then there's always a chance a new one might be assigned in the future.

You should set a static IP address for the TrueNAS server that lives outside of the DHCP range.

For example, if your router is configured to automatically assign an available IP address within the range of .2 through .200, then you can manually configure TrueNAS to use the static IP address of .201.

Ok, I am not so well versed on networking, so new to me. I will do that. Thanks!
Also, I managed to remap the drive, but originally I was logging in with root (which is probably a bad idea) because it wouldn't log in the account I made. This time root wouldn't log in but I was able to log in with the account I made. Scary.
