Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am new to True Nas Scale and trying to set up a small\budget install at home to help manage home movies and pictures.
I am running TrueNAS-SCALE 22.02.4. I was able to set up a SMB share, but I was the only person that was able to see it. I have set up myself and 3 family members as local users. I added those local users to the "family" group. When I went to grant permissions for the group to the SMB share I tried to use the "file system ACL", and the presets. Whenever I add the "family" and save the update I get a status bar while it executes the save, It always stops at 50% and lists the file it is trying to save/update is POSIX1e.ACL. I tried to create a custom ACL and got the same issues.
When I looked through the discussion form I saw a reference that talked about the need for a "mask" object. I tried a manual ACL and added a mask and the group and got the same result. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to grant my group of local users access to my SMB share? I am sorry if this was already discussed in the form, being new I am not sure I was asking the right questions.
Thank you,
Scott
