Hi all,

I wonder if there is something the size of an Intel NUC or similar that features at least
  • 16 GB of ECC memory
  • space for 2x 2.5" SSDs or M.2 SATA SSDs
  • 1 gigabit ethernet port
  • a serial port that can serve as the console
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Patrick

Mini ITX is about as small as you're going to find at the moment. I have one server running in one of these with 5.25" - 2.5" trayless backplane that is pretty cool. Just a linux server, but freenas would certainly work.

There is also the Freenas Mini... which is small and accepts 3.5" drives.

Alas, nothing pocket-sized yet!

Almost pocket-sized: https://michaelryom.dk/nuc-killer-s...ing_wp_cron=1566333216.7723839282989501953125

I have a FreeNAS Mini (more or less, built it myself from Supermicro components) - I mean something much smaller than that. As I said, format of a Mac mini or an Intel NUC ...

Kind regards,
Patrick
