Slow SMB Transfer speed on one computer but not the other

Hello forum,

I hope you can help me with this one. I have an ASUS X570-E Wifi II Gaming with a Realtek 2,5Gig Ethernet and Intel I211 1Gig Ethernet port. No matter which one I choose my transfer rate won't go above 11MB/s. On my other machine with an MSI X570 Unify with a Realtek 2,5Gig Ethernet port I get transfer speeds of about 110MB/s. I reinstalled the drivers already and it doesn't change anything. Even tried the Wifi card on my Asus X570-E and it is still the same transfer speed. Is there some ominous Windows 10 setting that is limiting my speeds? Hope you can point me in the right direction because I am lost.

11 MiB/s sounds an awful lot like a defective cable (only 100 mib/s connection). Your connection basically downgrades to fast ethernet from gigabit if things are improperly terminated, bad port, etc, etc.

You are correct sir. I have a cable running to a switch where the Msi x570 pc and truenas server are plugged into. My other pc is plugged into my router directly and the cable running from router to switch is broken.
