I am new to using TrueNAS 12.0-U5. I have it installed on a Dell T3500, 24Gb of RAM, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz. I have two 3Tb Seagate HDD. I followed the instructions and created my Pool and Share but I can't figure out how to map it on my W10 Laptop. I'm sure it is something easy.

Basil, thank you for the link. I tried following the steps but just can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. At one point I did have a truenas folder show under network on my laptop but I continue to be prompted for Windows credentials.

It looks like the TrueNAS documentation has dropped some relevant information that existed in earlier FreeNAS documentation

Basically, if you're not using AD, you must have matching accounts names on your PC and TN server. If you're using an MS login on the PC, then there's an additional step of enabling the MS flag on the TN user account. I suggest you do this in two steps. Get local user authentication working first from the PC. Once that's working, then progress to MS authentication.

Thank you for the information. I was finally able to get this setup on my W7 and W10 PCs. Adding the Group and user name/password did it.
