I have created a share in a pool and then created a user to use that share. When I try to use the share I login as the intended user and i get a permission denied. I made sure the acl was properly set but I still get a permission denied. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael

Can you provide more information, such as the share settings and the ACL/permissions of the dataset?

Is this the top-level root dataset, per chance?

It appears root is still the owner of the dataset. I assumed from your original post your share was SMB (not NFS).

Not as familiar with how it handles permissions.

Things to try:

  • Apply a specific user account as the owner (in the dataset's permissions).
  • Use the NFSv3 ownership model (currently disabled in your settings)
  • Try the Maproot and Mapuser options.
  • @anodos is well versed in this very area.
