Hello there. This might seem like a stupid question for most of you but i'm in a dillema.
I got an old Fujitsu server runing truenas scale (now) before was core. The problem with it is just too old and no more room for RAM (8GB is max on this machine).
I'm running qbittorent and plex on this.
Plex doesn't realy do transcoding 95% of playback is direct play (1080p or 720p moveis/shows). So the procesor isn't on heavy load max 15-25% but with torrents downloading it just freezes up plex (propobly lack of RAM)
I wanna upgrade it. So i have 2 choices.
1. Go for a: Intel i5-7600K 3.80GHz 6MB BOX, ASRock Z270 Pro4, DDR4 16GB(2X8GB) 2400MHz
2. Go for a Hp Z600 with 2x xeon x5675 and 96GB ram
The question is the first option enough for what it's going to be running or just go for nr 2 and have a spare RAM and CPU power.
With nr 1 i can HW tanscode but i don't realy need to. With nr 2 i will have enough cpu power and RAM (but no HW transcoding).
Power consumtion is also an isue. (prices i have to pay for ether one are allmost the same)
Once again i'm sorry if it sound stupid but i did a lot of searching n the web about both procesors and didn't come with an answer for myself so that's why i'm asking here for help (there are a lot of ppl that might have similiar setups to what i wanna buy)
