Hello,

If low noise is high on the list when putting together your build. Would you consider the Seasonic Prime Titanium Fanless 600W ?
Is the noise coming from a Seasonic G Series something worth reducing by investing in the fanless version?

Thanks,
R. Rod

Higher end Seasonic turn the fan off at low loads. It's better to have a fan and not need it than to not have a fan. Low noise PC/Server design isn't about no fans, it's about large slow moving fans using PWM and sensors (ramp up when temps go up) to protect equipment in extreme situations.

If your budget is of no concern then go for that option. But a good quality PSU with fan produces almost no noise. I have 2 systems with a Corsair RM550x and RM750x and I don't hear the PSU's. For all practical purposes they are silent. The RM550x is runnng in my HTPC in my livingroom and I just don't hear it. The PSU's have a zero RPM fan mode with low and medium loads. And they are way more budget friendly then those Seasonics.
