I have a a freenas 11 box with ada0 through ada7 the disks are WD Velosiraptor 300gig I have several that are going bad I wantto replace all the drives with WD Velosiraptor 600gig drives. I have been told that I can replace them however the pool size will not increase in size until all eight drives have been replaced. Is this true? are there any issues that I will run into

Yes, it's true--the manual will explain that, and how to replace the disks.

I'm doing the same thing in my thread. Just replacing them one at a time.
GUI -> Pool -> Status -> Click on Degraded Disk and then Replace with the new one.
This will start the resilver process.
scan: resilver in progress since Fri Sep 30 12:35:32 2022 2.53T scanned at 579M/s, 315G issued at 568M/s, 27.8T total 52.4G resilvered, 1.11% done, 0 days 14:04:41 to go
