Hi
Two weeks now, I m getting a message about one of my boot-pool drives (they are in a mirror configuration) that is starts to fail. The drive was the sde3 (as you re going to see in the picture below) and was stated as faulty. The only option in System Settings->Boot->Boot Pool Status was only to replace the disk.
As you can see below (ok now after 2 restarts, a scrub and a long smartctl test of the drive the degradation message went away for some reason), there is no option for detaching or removing or making the drive offline, only replace. If I can recall, replace is when you have already attached a new drive to replace the faulty one. I don t have the extra positions an cables for that on that system.
In any case, what is the correct procedure for replacing a faulty drive participating in a boot-pool, in order to be prepared for next time it happens.
