I built a truenas scale with 2 2tb red wd, 12mb ram, amd cpu, 750 watt psu. I love doing the IT stuff. I used to be technologically knowledgeable, but not like most of you. I need to replace the Dropbox (cloud server) for my company. I purchased a router to handle VPN if I need it. For the last 2+ months, I have read and watched a lot of videos on remotely accessing my NAS. It appears that every day there is something new for truenas scale. But, the videos are months or years old. Currently, is there an app that does this quickly? What should I read or watch? Should i just hire someone so that I don't have to spend weeks figuring things out when it goes south? Is there a source for truenas scale experts if i need too? Thanks in advance.

The best Dropbox replacement AFAIK is Nextcloud, and there are both official and Truecharts apps for that in SCALE. If your users are comfortable connecting via VPN, that's going to be the most secure, but Nextcloud is designed to be public-facing anyway, so forwarding ports 80/443 to your installation should do the trick.

Thanks. I might go the route of hiring a consultant to implement what we need, since it will take me time to read all of the documentation.
