Raspberry CPU architecture is not supported (Rpi has arm, but x86 is required).
Other than that it does not have enough RAM and your drives would have to be connected via USB.
Keep in mind that you won't have any of the feature set of FreeNAS with this approach with regards to redundancy, data integrity, availability, etc. The RPi can do many things but at the end of the day it is still a $35 computer.

i tried to install Free nas on a old dell pc. it booted from the installation media but when i restarted the system and removed the installation media it wouldn't boot from the boot device.
it has a intel core 2 duo.
