Hi

Currently using Synology which is good enough but due to BTRFS which is still not a stable File system hence exploring other filesystems.

Came across FreeNAS and installed on a test system. Downloaded and installed.

Want to know where I can find Raid5 settings which will allow having 4 HDDs in the final system.

After instllation I could not find any such option to select Raid Type.

Can anyone help please...

The answer to your question would be, there isn't any option to use RAID5 because the filesystem in use is ZFS. I'd suggest you start reading the product documentation (or some of the forums threads on this topic) to see what your options are and what the H/W recommendations are for a FreeNAS server.

There is also some information about ZFS in the documentation here: http://doc.freenas.org/9.10/zfsprimer.html

When I install it in as VM, I can see RaidZ and RaidZ1 option but when I install on Physical Server, I can't see such options.

You haven't actually given any information on the specifications of the hardware on which you've installed FreeNAS nor the configuration of the VM that you tried, I shouldn't think anyone on these forums is a mind reader so you're going to have to give detailed information about your installation. Have you actually read the documentation and the forum threads on the hardware requirements and some of the detailed posts in these forums on those topics?

As phoenix said, please read the rules at the top of the page and provide detailed hardware information and FreeNAS version.

If I put my mind-reading cap on, my guess is that your server is using hardware RAID (don't do this) or your hardware is otherwise incompatible with FreeNAS.

Note, RAIDz1 (similar to RAID5) is not recommended with 4TB drives. RAIDz2 is a better choice.

Sorry If I missed.

My hardware config is as below :

MB : Asus Z97 Deluxe
CPU : i7 - 4th Gen
RAM : 32 Gb
HDD : 2 x 2 Tb + 2 x 3 Tb

When I use FreeNas under VMWare then I'm able to see RaidZ option but when I install on Baremetal then RaidZ is not visible.

Further, system is UEFI and when I try to install FreeNAS as UEFI then it fails to install.

When using disks of different sizes you will have to use the manual option under the volume manager.

Your hardware is not a good choice for freenas but it might work. I suggest you read the docs from cover to cover and all the threads in my signature.
