Would creating 2 pools require more memory and CPU than just creating one larger pool?

I've got a set of 2TB NAS drives I want to turn into a ZFS pool, but also some 1TB drives just to have some extra storage. However, if adding the second pool of 1TB drives is going to impact performance, I probably won't do it. This is assuming I'm using both pools at the same time.

There really isn't much of a difference if you are going to use both at the same time. If you were only using 1 pool at a time you'd be able to do more with less RAM from what I've seen with my 2-pool server, within reason of course.

I like your response better than the response where I asked this question on a related mailing list:

"It would probably end in pain"
