Hi all,

I recently upgraded to 9.3 and just finished upgrading my ownCloud plugin to 7.0.2. When I try to install the Tasks app from the ownCloud admin interface, I'm unable to do so, with the error message:

"App does not provide an info.xml file"

I've never encountered this before and I'm unsure how to proceed. I haven't been able to dig up any good leads via Google or searching the forums. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

this issue isn't specific to the freenas plugin. I've experienced this before, it likely cause the app in the repo isn't packaged perfectly. a lot of times I end up having to downloading and unpacking the apps to my apps folder, then enabling them from the apps page.

your best place to look is apps.owncloud.org or the github for the app

Thanks Joshua,

So, I see the app at https://apps.owncloud.com/content/show.php/Tasks?content=166058. I'm certainly not averse to rolling up my sleeves and manually installing this into the plugin, but I'll freely admit I'm a noob and I haven't manually installed an app in ownCloud before. A quick search through the OC documentation reveals: http://doc.owncloud.org/server/7.0/...ent_installation.html#adding-third-party-apps, notably:

"4. Extract a downloaded compressed file and place the contents (which should themselves be contained in a folder with the app name) in the apps folder in your ownCloud installation, typically owncloud/apps."

Any guidance on where this app directory might be inside the Freenas jail file structure by default?

Thanks again!

I bet it's in /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud
you'll want to make sure the folder is owned by www after installing it.

File location seems to have been moved to /mnt/[servername]/jails/owncloud_1/usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/apps

Also, a slightly faster way to install, from https://github.com/owncloud/tasks/tree/master:

Using git: In your owncloud/apps/ directory, run git clone https://github.com/owncloud/tasks/. Then go to the Apps manager tab in your Owncloud web interface, and enable the Tasks app.

The location didn't move. One location is from the jail's perspective, the other is from the FN host's.

Thanks! I was mostly posting that for the benefit of future me if I ever needed to install it again down the road, but now posterity can access it from either direction :P

Also, nicely done with the 8.0 plugin, I always dreaded the upgrade process since it basically meant a fresh OC install each time. Infinitely smoother with the latest plugin update!
