Hello colleagues. I have a problem with Filebrowser. The installation was problem-free. However, I then have no authorization to access my data. I see the folders but can't open them. Are there any instructions for this?

sorry to resurrect an old thread. But I'm really lost on this issue I'm haivng.
I've built machines about 2 decades ago for side hustle, and fairly knowledgeble with DOS, Linux commands, boot configuration etc,..still prefer the GUI way for ease of use, at least for home NAS set up.

I recently got an asustor 6604 and didn't quite like the OS, so preserved the ADM EMCC and installed a fresh copy of TrueNas Scale on a verbatim SSD plugged into the back. Followed this blog : https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2023/how-i-installed-truenas-on-my-new-asustor-nas
Created 1 pool for storage with 2x18Tb drives, 1 pool for apps and VMs with 2x2TB nvme drives. Created datasets for each of those and tried installing 'FIleBrowser' app from the app catalog. It was faster on the nvme pool/dataset.

Added 2 small jpg files to storagepool/mediadataset/... (2 files are not in a sub-directory they are directly in mediadataset). I can browse to truenas->mediashare using my mac network tree and see the 2 image files.

I'm logged into the truenas portal using 'admin' account and after installing the app and see it as 'Running' I tried to open the 'Web Portal' in a new chrome window. I login with default username 'admin' and pwd 'admin' I can see the 'mediadataset' share in chrome window and when I double click on the share, I don't see any files in it (I should be able to view 2 jpg files), instead I see greyed out 'you do not have permission to view this.' message.

tried with adding userID and groupID and even www_data permissions to the share and user but still no use. I'm confused/lost.

what am I missing? any help would be appreciated.
