I admit I am new to Linux, so something probably very simple need to be done.

I want to share whole pool which has about 10 datasets in it.

I created share, listed pool as item to share.
I did mark it as Read-Only. All setups shown in pictures.

My intent is simple. I just want another Linux client to have RO access to be able to backup files from FreeNAS

What I see is my share. I see all datasets inside of it (so it does connect!)
But I don't see any files inside of datasets. Must be something very simple..

You should share the data set, not the pool. That is why you can't see the sub-dirs.

When sharing with nfs you can not see the datasets that are nested in other datesets because they are like a different filesystem and need their own mount point.

You will have to create exports for every dataset and mount all of them on the client. Best option of to use autofs. Also never share the root of your pool.
