I Installed the current version of TrueNAS Scale and traveled to the given IP address for the web ui.
However, it just hangs and does not load. This is on http and https.

Please review the forum guidance, your more likely to get some support from the forums if you provide more information on your environment, how you deployed (e.g. upgrade vs fresh install). there is really not a lot in the above we can base a response on.

You are 100% correct. I am sorry about that.

I did a brand new fresh install. This is my first time. I tried to install Core first, but realized that Scale is more up my alley.

Motherboard is an ASUS P6X58D Premium
running an Intel i7 2.66Ghz
44GB Ram
240GB Inland Professional SSD

It booted, shows me the web user interface IP, as both ipv4 and ipv6 I believe.

When I go to the url, either http or https, it just hangs. I also can't ping the ip in the command shell.

If you are experienced with network configurations, as you have the console up, one thing you could try is setting a static IP address, I assume right now fresh after install DHCP will be running.
You'd want to use the configure network interfaces option

I did a quick linux shell meminfo check, it's actually reporting 14gb, something I need to check now.

oops. The bios reports 20GB ram, which is what I do have. I had my ram slots a bit wonky, so I fixed that.

I don't think that the static setting worked. I also went into the linux shell on the TrueNAS computer and tried to ping 8.8.8.8. It was unreachable.
I will try to see if there is an issue with the cable. When I unplug it from my switch, it reports that the link is down. plugging it back up reports that the link is up and is 1GB speed.

I kept resetting the configuration, deleted the networks, and now it seems to work after it reassigned an iP. strange.
My motherboard did have 2 NIC cards, one reported an error. It probably had some wonky settings. I may have been trying to use the one with an error.
