Hi All

When I try and install the latest freenas I get a BTX error found its a problem with the B20i card in the microserver

I want upgrade from a 2 disk mirror to 4 disk raid anyway so this is a good time as any

the p222 seems a popular choice among microserver builds but from reading it takes the raid management off ZFS

with that in mind what would be a good sob £100 card ?

No, that is a hardware RAID card which isn't good for FreeNAS. An LSI 9207-8i flashed to IT firmware would be the way to go. I think there is an HP badged flavor of that, but I don't recall the model number.

FreeNAS 11.2-U4.1 installed and running from a USB2 memstick OK on a HP Microserver gen8, so a HBA card should not be necessary. IIRC the HP220 raid card is 9205-8i based and can be flashed to IT mode.
