I'm doing some testing with PLEX currently.

If I understand what I've read here if I want to start more than one PLEX server running I'll have to either run them all in jails using packages or one using the plugin and any subsequent in a jail with packages?

Also it should not be a problem having multiple instances accessing the same storage?

Pretty sure you could do this in different jails, but the main question would be why?

I don't know where you read about those limitations. there are none, install as many instances in from plugins or packages as you want.

The why? is pretty simple. I want to have a Test and Development environment separate from my Production. Once I get the Plex server tweaked to the customer's (aka she who must be obeyed and the spawn of she who must be obeyed) requirements availability requirement become stringent. This way I can play "what if" and not impact production is to wait for the whole family to go to bed (and actually going to sleep - I've had to implement time based access lists on my firewall to block the kid's wireless after 10pm after finding them hiding under the covers with a tablet, iPod, ChromeBook etc.)

Thanks! I thought once a package was installed it was removed from available so the jails method was the only option. Just checked and sure enough it was still there and I added a second plugin jail.
