Move Plex from one pool to another pool

All,

I am using FreeNAS-11.2-U3. I have 1 pool (P1) setup and it is running great. I installed the Plex plugin. It is running in a jail the plugin created on P1. I have expanded my storage and created a second pool (P2). P1 is near max capacity. So I am wanting to move my media files to P2 to free up space on P1. I was also thinking of having the plugin / jail running on P2. I did a search in this tread on such a theme, but could find anything. Any recommendation on what to read / how to make the transition without starting from scratch when making this transition?

Thanks.

You always want to “start from scratch” when doing things like this. Check out the plex manual for how to migrate to a new server, destroy your plex jail and move over the entire jail infrastructure to the new pool and install plex in a new jail. Then import the application as per the plex manual.

All your services should be set up so you can “un plug” them and move over. Never move an OS..

Thanks. I will jump over to the plex webpage and start reading up. By "start from scratch" I was more refering to having Plex scan all the files on P2, import all the meta data, and lose the manual pairing I have had to do on some content. But what you said makes sense dont try and copy the P1 Plex jail folders and paste onto P2 and expect it to work.

Thanks again!
