Hey everyone need a little help, Just successfully installed Calibre via the plug ins and created a mount point for the location of my Ebooks, i click manage to open Calibre and start to set it up but i am stuck on this.

"Location of Calibre Database"

Where do i find the location or what needs to be added to the box before i can save and continue? Going through the documentation and various forum posts but i'm missing something.

Cheers.

Should that be the destination of your mountpoint?

According to some documentation it's the location of your calibre.db file, But if it's a new installation it doesn't have one and then i ask how does one already have a calibre database if they have never used it before. Would pointing to your Ebooks folder create the necessary files?

Ill have to give that a test and see the outcome.

If I am reading you correctly, you installed not Calibre but Calibre-Web - correct?

According to the documentation you need to use the Calibre desktop application to create the database. Calibre-Web is a frontend for browsing that, not a full-featured variant of Calibre.

Calibre-Web is a web app providing a clean interface for browsing, reading and downloading eBooks using an existing Calibre database.

You can sync your locally maintained Calibre library by e.g. Nextcloud to your NAS and then mount the folder into the Calibre-Web jail and point the application to it.

I created a metadata.db file by hand: touch metadata.db
this worked to initially set the system
