IPv4, IPv6 configuration, firewall configuration, network topology (switches, dedicated firewalls, load balancers...), TrueNAS configuration, SMB configuration, ACLs of the datasets, (if there are) ACLs of the share, if you enabled the settings in the share settings tab that make it discoverable... Do I need go on?

Looks like you'll need to enable WS-Discovery in SMB4K. By default, it appears to try the old NetBIOS browsing and NTLMv1. The old-fashioned ways aren't recommended, as they're no longer secure.

If I knew all this then I would not be asking for help now would I.. I wanted suggestions as to what I could try and what settings I should look at or adjust and what the settings should be.. I can get to TrueNas through my file manager (transfer files etc), so most of the stuff works, my issue is with SMB4K, I don't understand why it can't find TrueNas, when my file manager (nemo), connects fine.. As I mentioned, everything is fine on the Windows side, so I guess I have most al the settings correct, so maybe we can discount your list.. Maybe I am in the wrong place and should try SMB4K forum? But, yes, by all means go on..

I've used SMB4K over several years and it's always been hit or miss to auto detect and show my TrueNAS server. Even if TrueNAS doesn't not shown up automatically, you can still create bookmarks to your shares. It's not ideal but it works.

Sorry I don't have anything to add about actually fixing the problem. I never figured out the cause myself

If you want help, it's nice to help others to do so. As good as you can (possibly make it).

Just imagine, someone would answer your question with "over here it just works". It would be the same "level of investment".
