Good morning,

I'm trying to repurpose a Lenovo x3650 m5 as a truenas box, actually is equipped with a raid card and I have to change it with an IBM m1215 in it mode to use truenas.

In Lenovopress i saw that the x3650 m5 can host even an hba N2215, question is:

if I buy this one I need to flash it in IT mode or it's already OK to use it on truenas?

This is the link of the hba:

Let me know if it can work out of the box.

Thanks in advance

Yes, that IBM / Lenovo N2215 is just an OEM LSI SAS3008 based PCI-E 3.0 12Gbps based SAS / SATA HBA controller. I don't know if out of the box its in IT mode - most usually the default is in IR mode. You will probably need to cross flash it to its LSI SAS3008 equivalent using the firmware found at

It looks like P16 is the latest version.
