I'm a complete noob when it comes to this but I've always wanted a file server to act as the server for my media. I'm using an old computer I had lying around and added 3 new 2tb drives to it.

When I try to install Freenas from an USB stick the installation gets as far as:

Mounting local file system:
Setting hostname: freenas.local.

Then it's just stuck there. Been so for the last 3 hours. I've tried different builds (64bit and 32 bit) and even tried NAS4free which had the exact same problem.

Anyone with an idea what might be causing this?

Please follow the forum rules and provide us with more information.

I'm sorry. Like I said, total noob when it comes to computerstuff.
I've tried multiple versions and all had the same problem.
Pentium 4 cpu
Mobo: Gigabyte-8s649MF
Only 1.5 gb ram at the moment

Could the low ram be the reason it keeps hanging at that exact moment?
