Hello everyone,

first of all, I am very grateful for this community. Most of my questions could be answered by browsing the forums for answers.

Unfortunately, now I encountered a problem I don't know how to solve. Please be kind since I am a noob who just managed to install Truenas and create a pool...

So, I am using Truenas Core for my media archive (Camera raw footage). I have a pool consisting of 8 14tb disks in Raid-z2 and created a smb share to access the archive from my workstation. All worked fine until I shut down my workstation and booted it up again in the morning. Now I cannot access the share anymore. I cannot login with my password and it says I do not have permissions or that the device name is already used.

I set the share to restricted with user and group set to my name and permissions to full control. It worked the day I installed everything and it also works from my laptop.

TrueNAS.

This sounds like a Windows problem... Are trying to access the share from Windows?

yes. I just have no clue why it worked when I set it up and then stopped working after booting the win workstation the next day. I can access it still from my laptop

You probably need to go into the password manager and set the password.
In the Windows, "Control Panel" under "All Control Panel Items", (that is the icon view, not the category view) select "Credential Manager" and inside the "Credential Manager", select "Windows Credentials". There should be a listing there for your saved credentials to the NAS. You may need to delete it and make it again. The NAS is denying access because the credentials Windows is trying to use are being rejected.
Windows is funny, sometimes, it worked the way it should on the laptop but not on the desktop. I have never figured out why some installations of Windows work differently than other installations, even if they are made from the same media.

Unfortunately, I thought that rebooting the server would be a good idea that could solve my problems. Now I cannot access the TrueNAS GUI anymore vie the network....
