Hi

How is this done.
I have now 2 x 240GB SSD added to my NAS.

I already had a BX500 so got another on sale.
I tried to find documentation with little success.

How is this done.

I wish to configure it so large backups/modifications into a pool is fast, especially when writing a lot of small files.
Then the files will be written to the pool in the background a little later.

Of course I need to do this without changing anything on my pool already.

Please help

Thanks

Just an update. My knowledge of freenas is limited. it seems I would need something call aZIL. My understanding is that it is a drive where all news writes are placed initially. I mirred 2 x SSD setup makes sense for that.
Useful info on this appreciated.

At the top of this Storage forum are some stickied posts - read through the Cache and SLOG/ZIL posts. It's likely that you will not benefit from adding this to your system, any benefit is extremely workload sensitive.
