Hi

As the title says, are there a way from the GUI to add a hot spare to an existing (mirrored) pool?

Thanks in advance

It'd be using the "extend pool" feature.
What's the process/selection for TrueNAS-12.0-U8? I don't see an "extend pool" option where I see videos showing it was in FreeNAS 11.3. See attached screenshot. I tried "expand" but it didn't give me option to just add drive as a spare. I expected to see the page you get when you create a pool.

Also attached a screenshot of one of the two pools to which I want to add a spare. Am using mirror for redundancy in both (not RAID), in case that's relevant.

Ok, for all the other other idiots like me who searched the internet, youtube, AND the documentation but couldn't find the proper instructions, here are the steps to follow:

In the pool for which you want to add a spare, click the settings wheel and select Add Vdevs,

On the next page you have to pull down the "ADD VDEV" menu to select "Hot Spare"

You then chose a drive of the same size as the VDev you want to support/protect and add it to the "Spare VDev" section
