Hi

I'd like to preface that I am very much a noob at this.
I have a two CIFS shares set up, and I can access and use them just fine through Win Explorer, but I have no idea how to access them in Android. In Windows , I always used to access them with '\\FREENAS' path in the adress bar (now I have them mapped as network drives), but in Solid ex. I have to manually enter settings.
I'm supposed to enter a host name, and Solid Explorer says that I can enter the IP adress, and that's what I've done. Next, I have no idea where to dig up the port number. The online interface is useless in this regard. I have no idea of the path (is this where I input '\\FREENAS'?) and I have no idea what the display name is. I'm guessing FREENAS?

I'm sorry if all of this sound really stupid, but I really am not really sure what I'm doing. I have tried entering numerous thing in the configuration wizard, but none of it has worked. Also, sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes, english isn't my primary language.

No CIFS client will ask you to specify the port number. As far as navigating to the server by IP-Address, you just go to \\ip-address\share

If you have too many problems with that CIFS client app, try a different one.

To access my FreeNAS share from Linux I use ES File Explorer. It works pretty well for my purposes.

However I will say that I have been unable to find a client that is able to do so with later revisions of the SMB protocol so you have to use a less secure version to access said files.
