You are asking a very simple sounding question but it's actually a very complex answer. I would recommend that you search the internet on something like "freenas remote access". There are discussions on this type of stuff but you will need to look for it.

The probable answer you will arrive at is Nextcloud.
They have a nice mobile app (and browser).
There's a plugin, but you're probably better following @danb35 's guide for a scripted install which includes adding the necessary bits to access it securely from outside (i.e. caddy as a reverse proxy).
