Hi Everyone.

Home use TrueNas user so p-lease go easy on me.

On my TrueNas, one of the pools "Pool1" show degraded.
When I check the details it tells me that /dev/gptid/5e8d8b6e-789d-11ee-b61a-d4ae52d330a3 is unavailable.

I don't know how to determine which disk this is, as it does not show up under disks.
When I look at Disks, they are listed as Da0 Da1 Da2 etc.

I will really appreciate if anybody can shed some light on this?

Thanks!

You could perhaps try looking in the shell and using zpool status -L

You may need to use a process of elimination if it still doesn't display (since it possibly isn't seen by the OS anymore).

Using your figure of speech ;-), you have left us in the dark. In other words we know nothing about your system. Please, as per the forum rules (top middle of screen in red), provide detailed(!) information about your environment

Interesting now that I look again at that... those names indicate you're using TrueNAS CORE, not TrueNAS SCALE (where they would be sda, sdb, sdc, etc) as you indicated by selecting the sub-forum for your post.

You can use glabel status to see the mapping of the gptids to disk partitions

Ah shoot. Sorry. Can an admin please move this thread to Core? Sorry about that.

Yeah, I ran that command and came up with this:
RE.

So the device ZFS claims is missing is indeed missing even from the OS point of view. You can use e.g. smartctl to find the serial numbers of all your remaining disks and so identify the one that is broken. Tedious, but if the disk is not visible by the OS at all, and you did not take inventory beforehand (e.g. in *cough* Excel), that's the only way I know.
