Hi All-
This is my first post on this forum. I am wondering if there is anything like an HCL just for the Freenas/Truenas SDS product as I am considering using it or some other commercial Linux-based solution for a new hardware BOM I am spec'ing out.
Thanks in advance.

Upper right hand corner, "Search", "HCL" or "Hardware Recommendations".

an official HCL
Well, there is one...

But that's probably not what you're asking if you're in the forums.

If you want confirmed compatible hardware, buy it (and a support agreement) from iXSystems.

If you're prepared to go on community recommendations and get "support" for free, there's no official list other than those provided by the community as mentioned above.

Forums and to a degree FreeBSD HCL (not for the latest/current version, since TrueNAS is a little behind in order to be able to test properly).

But for me the forums is the best way to check if others have been burned, or if they're happy with some specific hw (and revision)

I would ignore the FreeBSD HCL. We have tons of people arriving at the forums with "FreeBSD-compatible" yet nevertheless really bad hardware choices.

FreeBSD tries to be compatible with lots of stuff, but this includes broken RAID controllers and Realtek ethernet chipsets that are a total trainwreck. You should really look at the recommended hardware lists.
