Hi Guys

Recently I had install ClamAV in Freenas via useing the web UI plugin

My question is when ClamAV will scan, and will it auto scan when one of the user upload a file to the Freenas server

Or we need to schedule it to proceed scanning Antivirus?

Regard

You need to look into the details of the Plugin... if you haven't mounted any storage in the plugin's jail, there's nothing for it to scan.

Once you have mounted storage in the jail, you need to check the configuration of the plugin (a config file in the jail) to see where it will scan (and update that to include your mounted storage) and when.

There are a few articles covering that already on the forums.

Do note that you should verify that clamav will scan xattrs for malware. Last time I checked it didn't, which means there's a fairly trivial way to bypass scanning in general.

That is one of the ones I saw.

Of course it's talking about manually installing the jail, not specifically the plugin, but the principles should still be the same.
