I've had freenas installed for about 6months, mainly using as a Plex Media Server.

I moved the physical box yesterday, and now I cannot get access to the freenas admin gui.

From my PC I can still access Plex Media Server on http://192.168.1.172:32400/web/index.html# although some of the other connecting clients (tv, roku etc) intermittantly drop out.

I can ping successfully

Pinging 192.168.1.172 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.172: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.172: bytes=32 time=9ms TTL=64

When I puTTY onto 192.168.1.172 I get a "Using keyboard-interactive authentication" message which I have never seen before.

So I really do not know what is going on !

How can I get back onto Freenas either via cmd prompt or gui (preferably both)

Lots of thanks for any help

Cheers

Oh...and sometimes from the admin console on my Router I can see two connected Freenas....when i refresh they both disappear

From Router Admin :

FREENAS ...192.168.1.172
FREENAS ...192.168.1.172

What is the IP address of the FreeNAS server? It shouldn't be the same as your Plex server (that should be in a jail, which would have a different IP).

Most probably, you don't have set-up a fixed IP for the GUI access, and the DHCP on your network has assign a new address to it.
Simply try in your browser
Code:
http://freenas

or
Code:
https://freenas

Replace 'freenas' by your hostname if you have modify it.
Usually, best practice is to fix GUI access IP outside the DHCP range.
