Feature request: list device ID and serial number alongside each other when they are referenced (in the device info and in alerts / warnings)

Based on the link... it seems the shell can be used to extract the link between device ID and serial number. It would be really nice to use the GUI in a more intuitive way to find the a particular disk. Currently... just getting email alerts w/ the device ID only (disk causing slow I/O).

Alternatively... maybe the alert can list the device ID AND serial number to go a step further and not require hunting through the GUI either.

Well, the GUI does show serials in the storage/disks page:

(serial is blank here because this is a virtual environment). I don't think it'd be bad to have them listed elsewhere, though. Feature requests are made through the bug tracker; use the Report a Bug link at the top of the forum page to get there.

Thanks - I'll create an issue w/ the bug tracker.

I did see serial numbers are listed, but that is my issue; I'm given a device ID in an error, and nothing in the disk information matches that information. My idea is to eliminate having "decode" the obscure device ID using the shell, and instead, be able to use the alert information directly.

"Device /dev/gptid/afd7ab22-fdc5-11ed-b870-b8ca3a77b0a8 is causing slow I/O on
pool datapool1."

After "lucking out" by using the commands in the linked post I was thinking "wouldn't it be nice if: "
1. Storage/disks lists both serial number and device ID
2. Alerts reference the serial number and interface name instead of the obscure device ID? (or at least include the shell commands to decode this info).
