Easy way to add users with samba shares?

I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this to work. I am able to create the users and their permissions are as expected on a Linux machine. On the other hand, their samba shares are either not visible, or browsable by everyone (depending on the ACL settings I create). I have not been able to get TrueNAS to prompt me for a username/password when browsing with windows file browser.

I am running TrueNAS CORE:
Platform: Generic

Version:
TrueNAS-12.0-U8

Try having a look at Credential Manager (search at the Windows Menu).

Either remove the one that's there or make a new one.

So, I rebuild the truenas and just followed the easy steps and created user shares and made them available via samba. I have ZERO idea what I did differently the first time, but this time it worked fine! My only complaint is that the homes folder is shared and when I click on it via SAMBA, it goes to my home folder. Otherwise, when first logging in, all user folders are visible, but afterwards, only mine is visible.
