Dead BMC/IPMI chip

We have an older FreeNAS mini that has a dead BMC/IPMI chip. It fails to initialize in the BIOS. We are currently using it for archiving data no longer needed in production, but required to keep for a set amount of time.

Is there a way to completely disable IPMI in Freenas 11.3? We are getting emails and alerts ("Failed to check for alert IPMISELSpaceLeft" and "Failed to check for alert IPMISEL") every few minutes. I can disable emails, however I would like to be able to keep an eye on it for any other errors.

Thanks,
Zack

Did you miss the recall for the crap firmware that ruined the BMC flash? iX may still be able to help you out with that.

If you want to exercise your soldering skills, you can also try swapping out the BMC flash IC and running the BMC firmware recovery.

If you want to get it over with and don't care about IPMI, the board should have a BMC disable jumper you can bridge.

That firmware predates me working here, but I'm going to guess my predecessor either didn't know or didn't care. I'll contact them and if it's too late then I'll just kill it with the jumper.

Thank you.
