Compatible GPUs for passthrough in KVM

Hi guys!

I am daily driving Scale now.

Just wondering if there is a list of compatible GPUs for PCIe passthrough to VMs?

I am looking for cheap GPUs on the second hand market to run my Windows 10 and Ubuntu VMs but I am afraid to make a purchase that would not work well with PCIe passthrough.

SCALE is still in ALPHA, so there are no official and final resources (yet).
Most GPU's should work though, from the host side afaik.

Is there a specific concern regarding compatibility? PCIe pass-through should be somewhat transparent to the device, unless you do fancy things that aren't a straight-up pass-through, like SR-IOV. It's not supported in TrueNAS at the moment, but it requires device support. E.g. NICs have varying numbers of virtual functions that they support, and I imagine GPUs are the same.

There is one caviat for compatibility, I know some gpu's didn't get shown in the dropdown because some weird device naming... Thats really the only thing holding one back from using it in an officially supported way.
